Using the Mixer
Open the mixer with MIX in the header, or Cmd/Ctrl+4. For how audio reaches the mixer, see Routing.
Channel strips
Section titled “Channel strips”The OUTPUTS panel at the bottom holds a strip for each bus: BUS 1 to BUS 16, AUX 1 to AUX 4 and MAIN. From top to bottom, a strip has:
- FX: the bus’s four effect slots. The small button turns a slot on or off. Click a slot to choose an effect.
- AUX (part buses only): four send levels. The glyph beside each send chooses where it is taken from: Pre-FX, Post-FX, Pre VCA or Post VCA. The default is Post VCA.
- Pan
- M and S (not on MAIN). While any bus is soloed, the others are silenced.
- Level and a meter
- Output (not on MAIN): MAIN or a plugin output, OUT 1 to OUT 20.
The output menu also has All Busses to Main and Each Bus to Unique Output. Unique output sends the part buses to Out 1 to Out 16 and the aux buses to Out 17 to Out 20.
Bus effects
Section titled “Bus effects”Click a strip to select its bus. The selected bus’s four effects are shown across the top of the screen, running in series from left to right. The effects are the same as part FX; see FX.
